After six months of relentless development and testing, the 360Lab team demonstrated for the first time the autonomous capabilities of the experimental KIA Soul EV at two major events in Luxembourg beginning of June. We demonstrated an AI system which makes use of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to predict steering angles and generate control signals to autonomously maneuvers the vehicle on a predefined test track. The sole input provide to the AI is a single video stream provided by a front-facing camera.
The first event was the SnT Partnership Day which took place June 5th at the Casino in Mondorf-les-Bains. We were very honored to show Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie of Luxembourg our research and took them for a ride in our autonomous vehicle.
The second event was the Automotive Day organized by LuxInnovation June 7th. The demos took place in the afternoon at the training track in Colmar-Berg. This was a great opportunity to discuss and exchange with experts from the automotive domain.
